Youth Offending - Parent Assessment System

PPAS - Parent Programme Assessment

System Summary

Client: Sefton Youth Offending Team

URL: Parent Programmes

Written in Access 97, this system supports a small team of community workers in addressing the needs and problems of people whose children are at risk of offending or have had a court order placed upon them.

The development process has also involved assisting with the design of the questionnaire and general IT systems support for the workers involved.

It is based upon previous work done with Dr Joe Oliver, now at Manchester University,  which was targeted at people with learning disabilities.

After an initial development process, this system is being enhanced for wider release as part of a 'tool pack' for other organisations working in this field.

Key Benefits

  • Standardised, quantifiable storage format of objective and subjective client monitoring information.
  • Fast data entry away from the clients, when used in conjunction with associated paper questionnaire
  • Ease of client monitoring, both between clients and over time
  • Outcome monitoring for funders of the Youth Offending project
